Mr. Shapero is a leading litigator who has pursued work on both sides of personal injury law. He has many years of trial experience representing insurance companies and currently represents injured people with their personal injury claims.
A native of Metropolitan Detroit, Mr. Shapero graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. A third generation attorney, he attended Detroit College of Law nightly, while working as chief clerk for the Honorable Steven N. Andrews of the Oakland County Circuit Court by day.
After earning his Juris Doctor degree in 1996, he began pursuing insurance defense work as an associate with Southfield, Michigan-based law firm Romain, Kuck & Egerer, P.C. (formerly Romain, Donofrio, Kuck & Egerer, P.C.). By serving as counsel to insurance companies, Mr. Shapero gained a unique perspective and insight into the law. With personal injury law becoming increasingly complicated and specialized, he decided to use this well-rounded insight to help represent the injured person.
In 2000, he began working with Robert F. Liss, who at the time had been intimately involved in personal injury and insurance litigation for more than 35 years. After working together for two years, Liss invited Shapero to become his partner. Together, they pledged to help the injured understand their rights and secure measurable results.
Mr. Shapero is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, The Oakland County Bar Association, The Michigan Trial Lawyers Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association and is admitted and qualified to practice before the Federal District Court, Eastern District of Michigan.
