Scott Mitnick is an associate attorney at Liss & Shapero. He is currently licensed to practice law in Michigan, Illinois, and the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Scott was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1981 and raised in West Bloomfield, Michigan.
Scott attended Bloomfield Hills Andover High School, where after school he worked as a file clerk at the 48th District Court. After high school, Scott attended the James Madison College at Michigan State University where graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Relations with a specialization in Criminal Justice. At Michigan State Scott was selected to Phi Beta Kappa and the Dean’s Honor List. During his undergraduate years Scott clerked both at a Lansing based law firm, which represents over four hundred public school boards for various legal matters, and a Farmington Hills based law firm that specialized in family law, collections, and personal injury.
After completing his undergraduate degree, Scott moved back to the Metro Detroit Area where he attended the University Of Detroit Mercy School Of Law. In law school, Scott was an active member of the U of D Moot Court Board of Advocates, participating in events including: the G. Mennen Williams Moot Court Competition, the Gallagher Professional Responsibility Appellate Moot Court Competition, and the Ernie Goodman Mock Trial Tournament.
In September, 2005, while in law school, Scott joined the office of Liss & Shapero as a law clerk; upon passing the Michigan Bar Exam, he was hired as an associate attorney. Scott’s practice focuses on civil litigation issues including auto negligence, insurance litigation, premise liability, Social Security Disability, and other aspects personal injury law.
